Outside Sales Representative

 Job Summary

DPI Specialty Foods, the Northwest's leading specialty food distributor, currently seeks a motivated and experienced Outsie Sales Representative to join our Perishable Food Service Sales Team on a full-time basis. The Outside sales Representative will have extensive outside sales experience and work as a team member along with the inside sales team to grow business with existing and new account base of fine dining restaurants, hotels, corporate diners, or any other specialty food establishment. Food Service, Culinary Background, or Outside Sales experience is a plus!

 Requirements
  • Associates Degree or equivalent; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years outside sales experience required. Experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Must be an energetic, self-starter.
  • Ability to work acurately in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, such as managing phone, computer, and sales calls at the same time.
  • Strong computer skills including excel, outlook, and powerpoint is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen.

    Essential duties and responbilities include the following
  • Sample, service, and educate clients on DPI products.
  • Make 4-6 account calls a day.
  • Map out weekly schedule to include appointments and what will be shown.
  • Provide quotes and new product information to clients.
  • Evaluate current sales trends and identify menu needs to locate opportunities.
  • Provide assistance to inside sales reps and service accounts with complex needs.
  • Work closely with warehouse personnel, drivers, and buyers.
  • Maintain a clear map of customer's follow up needs and identify opportunities for the inside team to review.
