DPI Specialty Foods, a market leader in the food distribution industry, currently has an opening for an experienced Sales Territory Assistant.
The Sales Territory Assistant is wholly responsible for the stores on their route. The Sales Territory Assistant must maintain this responsibility during the vacation absence of the assigned Sales Representative. This includes ordering, stocking, merchandising, code checking, and spoils. Order, stock, and merchandise product into all stores on a designated route. Monitor their territory and communicate findings as it relates to spoils, sales increases/decreases, pricing, unauthorized items, rejections in receiving and ordering, and new sales opportunities. Provide support for special sales programs and commitments such as the Food Show, Seasonal Bakery, Fly-In (Imports) and Special Order Items. Attend all sales related appointments such as Monthly District Meetings, Company Sales Meetings, Product Training, and Store functions. Follow through on survey requirements, new item cut-ins, and recalled products.

A Sales Territory Assistant must be detail oriented, organized, self motivated, dedicated to customer service and able to successfully work independently in the field. Position requires strong work ethic and flexibility as well as effective communication skills; must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. Use of personal vehicle and early morning start time is required. Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years prior Grocery Sales and/or Merchandising experience. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, ability to drive/travel on a routine basis throughout entire region and as needed throughout DPI’s entire territory, proof of auto insurance at required levels of coverage and the ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds on a regular basis and the ability to repetitively bend and stoop is required. |
